Geoffrey Boycott had a very successful Test and first-class career. When he retired from Test cricket in 1982, he held the record for most runs in the longest format of the game. He is the sixth highest run-scorer for England in Test cricket to date, with 8114 runs to his name.
The whole cricketing world prayed for Boycott when he went through heart surgery. The former England opener had undergone an open heart bypass surgery in June. He had to spend 10 days in the Cardiac critical care unit of a Leeds hospital. The surgeon who operated him claimed that operation was a success.
After 10 days, he allowed Boycott to go home to complete the recovery process. Very recently the legend went to the hospital for a periodic post surgery check up, and he got some good news there.
Boycott open to employment
He informed his followers on Twitter that the checkup revealed that he is as fit as a butcher’s dog. This news has come as a relief to all the cricket followers who were praying for his well being.
He further wrote that he has a clean bill of health and claimed that he is open to employment. “Just had my 6-month post heart op checkup. I’m pleased to say I’m fit as a butchers dog, have a clean bill of health and I’m open to employment!” Geoffrey Boycott tweeted.

This is not the only battle he has fought with health in his life. Boycott was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2002. He had to go through a gruelling schedule of chemotherapy and radiation treatment to defeat cancer. He mentioned that he felt really nervous when he went to his consultant for regular check-ups.
He added: “Sitting there waiting for the verdict is like waiting for the umpire to put up his finger or say ‘not out’. I was lucky she always said not out.” Boycott said as quoted by telegraph
Fans are quite happy with the fact that Boycott is fit and seems to be out of danger. However, his comment that he is open to employment drew some funny responses from Twitterati.
Here are some of the reactions:

If you are open for employment is there any chance you can apply for the job of prime minister? I think there might be a vacancy soon.
