God has certainly gifted MS Dhoni with some special ability: Suresh Raina
Suresh Raina hails MS Dhoni for his brilliant captaincy tactics.
Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni are really close on and off the field. The two have played a lot of cricket together. Since Dhoni and Raina made their debut for India in 2004 and 2005 respectively, the duo has been by each other’s side. The fact that, two players have represented Chennai Super Kings ten out of the twelve IPL seasons, has also strengthened their relationship.
The left-handed batsman has never shied away from praising MS. Recently, during online interaction, the Uttar Pradesh batter once again shared some lovely words for his captain. He credited Dhoni for giving some great cricketers to the country. He also said that he is a good human being which is important.
MS Dhoni always thinks one step ahead: Suresh Raina
“I have played a lot of cricket with him and he helped me become a better human being. He has given India some great players and we all know that. Everybody plays cricket but it is important for you to be a good human being as well. So I want to thank him for that,” Raina said on Sportscreen’s YouTube video.
Talking about Dhoni, the former middle-order batsman further said he trusts him with his decisions. He also revealed that the wicketkeeper is hardly ever wrong with his assumptions. He explained it is some little things that make him ahead of the game and make him such a great leader.
“Dhoni always thinks one step ahead. The guy who is standing behind the stumps, watching the entire field, the cameras, the crowds, that man can’t be wrong. He knows how much it is swinging, how much the pitch is turning. God has certainly gifted him with some special ability and that’s why he’s been such a successful leader,” Raina added.
Raina spent most of his international career playing under MS Dhoni. The 33-year-old has been out of favor from the Indian ODI team ever since the veteran stood down from captaincy. In fact, the left-handed batsman has played his best cricket under the Jharkhand stalwart. Raina averages 39 with the bat in ODIs under the captaincy of MSD, which is higher than his overall career average of 35.
