India eventually got kicked out of the T20 World Cup 2021 when Afghanistan lost to New Zealand in their league fixture on November 07. Apart from winning their remaining games massively, India’s chances relied on Afghanistan and New Zealand match which didn’t end in their favour. In the same line, Indian skipper Virat Kohli’s old tweet has been doing rounds on the internet.
Kohli, who stated earlier that he will quit T20I captaincy after T20 WC 2021, ended his stint not on a fine note as India got out in the league games only. However, Kohli tweeted back in 2012 that it isn’t a good feeling as they move for home tomorrow. Now, the tweet is making all the sense for men in blue in the current scenario.
“Going home tomorrow. not a good feeling,” tweeted Virat Kohli after India’s ouster in the 2012 Asia Cup.

Talking about India, they began their journey in T20 WC 2021 on an embarrassing note as they lost to their arch-rivals Pakistan by 10 wickets. However, it was expected of them to turn tables in their next clash against New Zealand but they succumbed to another awkward loss by eight wickets this time.
Pakistan and NZ move to the semi-final from Group 2
Now to move into the semi-finals, it was required that they win their remaining games massively and that New Zealand loses to Afghanistan. In the same light, Kohli even said in their game against Scotland that results will b exciting to see on November 07. However, NZ booked their berth in the semis by getting past AFG by eight wickets.
“A dominating performance, something that we were striving to do again. Now it will be interesting to see what happens on the 7th (November). Don’t want to say a lot about today’s performance, we know what we can do. Also tells you how important the toss can be at this venue. We wanted to get them under 110-120 max, that was the mindset we went in with. The bowlers were excellent, and then KL and Rohit did really well,” said Virat Kohli after winning the Scotland game.
