Yuzvendra Chahal and his interview show ‘Chahal TV’ has achieved cult status among the cricket fans. The right-arm leggie’s wit and talent behind the mic stand out. Chahal is currently playing for Haryana in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament but the leg-spinner is quite active on his social media.

The leg-spinner has created a unique niche for himself with his hilarious jibes and replies, and he wasn’t going to miss out on commenting on Rohit Sharma taking the interview in his place after the pink-ball Test. With Chahal not a part of the Test side, opener Rohit Sharma decided to don the interviewer’s hat when he talked to the members of heroes of the series – Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav. Team India rounded off what was a hugely dominant year for them in the purest format of the game with another innings win- their fourth on the bounce.

“Hitman in conversation with Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav. Rohit Sharma dons the anchor’s hat and quizzes pace duo who steered India to a historic victory in the pink ball Test,” BCCI had tweeted the video on Sunday.

Yuzvendra Chahal’s hilarious jibe at Rohit

Yuzvendra Chahal was quick to respond to the video. The leg-spinner took to Twitter to laud Rohit Sharma’s skills as an interviewer while also taking a cheeky dig on the Mumbai Indians skipper. “Good job by new anchor Rohitaa Sharma. Keep it up youngster,” Chahal said while replying to Sharma’s interview video posted by the BCCI.

Indian fast bowlers have been a revelation in the past two years and in the video, Ishant talked about Mohammed Shami, he and Umesh Yadav had planned to hit the deck hard on length to extract the maximum from the surface.

“This is very different (from the red ball). On the first day, the ball was not swinging at all. We then told each other that neither the ball nor the wicket is such that we will get any swing easily. We have to hit the deck hard on length, especially during the day,” Ishant said on the pink-ball Test.

The Indian fast bowling trio was too hot to handle for the Bangladesh batsmen as they fended, poked and got hit in the head against the sustained hostility. While Ishant claimed the first five-wicket haul on home soil since 2007, Umesh also picked one for himself in the second innings as India inflicted an innings and 46 runs defeat on the tourists.

The focus will now shift to T20 cricket with West Indies set to lock horns with the Men in Blue next month where we could see Chahal will once again reunite with his “partner in crime”- Kuldeep Yadav.
