It is a known fact that the athlete who wins the gold stands tallest on the podium and the national anthem of his country is played. In his tweet, Sehwag congratulated many athletes of India who grabbed medals in Tokyo 2020.
Sehwag is in the commentary panel of currently going England-India Tests and cheekily added that for a few moments he felt like that cricket can be compromised. Many cricket experts while being in discussion of the same Test match paused in between and saluted the young medalist of India. Chopra added in the 7th medal for India. India’s medal tally kicked off with Mirabai Chanu getting a silver medal in weightlifting and it was followed by PV Sindhu, Lovlina Borgohain, and Ravi Dahiya.
However, the ultimate glory came in when the men’s hockey team grabbed a medal at Tokyo 2020 after four long decades. However, the ending couldn’t have been better for India as Bajrang Punia and Chopra added bronze and gold for India respectively.
