Got offer from ‘Nach Baliye’ but waiting for BCCI's decision on punishment: S Sreesanth

Former national cricketer S Sreesanth had a piece of good news going in his favour recently when the Supreme Court decided to revoke the ban that was imposed on him by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Kerala cricketer was punished by the board in connection with a spot-fixing scandal in the 2013 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was arrested by Delhi Police along with Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan. Sreesanth moved courts to get relief but finally succeeded only recently.

Sreesanth, member of both the Indian squads that won the world titles in T20 in 2007 and 50 overs in 2011, meanwhile, tried his hands at the television show and even acting in films. The 36-year-old recently said that he was even given an offer to take part in dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye’ with his wife Bhuvneshwari but he stopped short of giving the nod as he was waiting for the BCCI’s final nod on his punishment. The apex court has asked the BCCI to reconsider his punishment.

“Yes, the makers have approached me but I am still thinking about it. I have not decided yet as I am waiting for BCCI’s decision,” Business Standard cited reports as quoting the pacer who has taken 169 international wickets between 2005 and 2011.

Sreesanth took part in popular shows like ‘Big Boss’, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’

The cricketer has been found earlier taking part in shows like ‘Big Boss’, ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’, ‘Khatron Ke Khiladi’ and even featured in the recently released film named ‘Cabaret’ produced by his friend Pooja Bhatt.

Sreesanth, who also fought an election in the past, said the BCCI’s decision could come at any moment and since ‘Nach Baliye’ is a long programme, he was not committing anything at the moment.

Meanwhile, there are talks that star couples Drashti Dhami-Neeraj Khemka, Anita Hassanandani-Rohit Reddy and Prince Narula-Yuvika Chaudhary will participate in the new season of the popular show.
