Ground staff takes a stunning catch during the CA XI v England game
The groundsman appeared just at the right time in the right place to take a stunning catch.
During a tour match between England and Cricket Australia XI, an anonymous ground staff took everyone at the Riverway Stadium, Townsville, by surprise taking a stunning catch on the fourth and final day of the warm-up game.
A CA XI batsman smashed the fourth ball of the 70th over, bowled by Mason Crane for a six. But, at the long on boundary, an unnamed groundsman appeared just the right place at the right time out of nowhere to take a stunning catch. While taking the stunner he also lost his sunglass.

Meanwhile, in reply to England’s first innings total of 515, the CA XI were asked to bat again after being dismissed for 250. They were under the pump to face an innings defeat unless their batters put up a defiant show in the seconc knock and just that happened. Skipper Matthew Short and 18-year-old Jason Sangha played brilliant knocks, hitting hundreds they contributed 134 and 133 runs to the team’s cause respectively to force a draw and keep the Brits off a victory in the last warm-up match before the Ashes gets underway.
Meanwhile, the most prestigious bilateral Test series is all set to start from November 27 at the Gabba, Brisbane. The second Test of the five-match series will be played at the Adelaide Oval on December 2 and the third, fourth and fifth Tests will be played in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne respectively.
