Ace Indian footballer Sunil Chhetri recently overtook English footballer Wayne Rooney in the list of highest goal scorers in international matches among active players. The fans went gaga over his achievement and the praises came from all corners. The social media flooded with posts for the same. Among numerous fans congratulating Sunil Chhetri, one such fan was Gujarat Lions owner Keshav Bansal.
Gujarat Lions is one of the IPL teams who were a part of the tournament in the 2016 and the 2017 edition. A very excited Keshav tweeted a message for Sunil Chhetri and congratulated his effort. However, he ended up goofing it up big time with the tweet. In the tweet, he wrote everything right but the main key word. Instead of writing highest number of goals, the Gujarat Lions owner ended up writing highest runs.
Well, by the look of things, it seems that Keshav Bansal has had an overdose of cricket. He certainly is following the game of cricket a little too much. He tweeted, “Let’s take a moment to talk about @chetrisunil11, the Indian footballer who has been ranked 4th in the world for scoring the highest runs.”
Bansal was surely quick to realise that something had gone horribly wrong with the tweet since he started getting too many replies on the same. Needless to say, the Twitterverse was not at all impressed with the goof up. While some mocked him for his ignorance, there were others who wasted no time in trolling him.
Meanwhile, talking about the heroics of Sunil Chhetri, the Indian skipper and the Bengaluru FC player, scored a goal in the 69th minute of the game against Kyrgyzstan recently in the AFC Asian Cup Qualifier in Bengaluru on Jun 13. He surpassed Wayne Rooney in the list of most goals among active international players. He is currently fourth in the list behind Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Clint Dempsey.
Here is how Keshav Bansal got trolled for his major goof up on Sunil Chhetri:
