Gujarat Lions pacer Nathu Singh ruled out of the remainder of the IPL

Gujarat Lions speedster Nathu Singh has been ruled out of the last few games in the 2017 edition of the IPL. The seamer from Rajasthan suffered back spasms during the Gujarat Lions’ home game at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium against the Kings XI Punjab.
Nathu Singh played all of 2 matches in this edition of the IPL before being ruled out of the tournament. Although the Gujarat Lions are knocked out of the IPL, Nathu Singh’s inclusion might have helped them to end on a high this season.
In his first game for the Lions this year, Nathu Singh bowled exceptionally well. He got the crucial wicket of Manan Vohra and ended with figures of 1-7 from his 2 overs.
The 21-year old also bowled a couple of overs against a batting-heavy Royal Challengers Bangalore side and gave away a mere 8 runs.
Nathu Singh has since found it hard to squeeze himself into the Gujarat Lions playing XI. In his place, pacer Pradeep Sangwan has now been a regular feature in the GL side. Nevertheless, Nathu Singh was impressive with his 4 overs in this season of the IPL.
The Rajasthan speedster burst onto the scene with impressive figures of 7 for 87 on debut against Delhi in the 2015-16 season of the Ranji Trophy. He also had an opportunity to train under Australian legend Glenn McGrath at the MRF Pace Academy in Chennai. His fortune took a turn at the IPL auction where he was picked up for Rs. 3.2 crores by the Mumbai Indians. However, he was unfortunate not to get a single game for MI.
In 2017, he was given the opportunity to don the Gujarat Lions jersey and impressed one and all with his natural pace and economical bowling. Unluckily for him, he shall take no further part in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.
