Afghan all-rounder Gulbadin Naib had a fairly decent tournament with the bat but failed to threaten much with the ball. The all-rounder clearly is a big member in the side and time and again in the tournament, he has been Asghar Afghan’s go-to man. He clearly could’ve been on the winners’ podium if not for his side’s inexperience, but the ones who were there at the end certainly deserved it.
In a pulsating finale at Dubai, the Indian contingent under the leadership of Rohit Sharma managed to edge out Bangladesh to win the title for the seventh time. The entire cricketing fraternity came together to appreciate the character shown by the eventual champions in difficult times and there was a lot of love being showered on the Bangladeshi unit.
Gulbadin too congratulated the Indian side for their amazing triumph. He posted a picture of the Men in Blue celebrating the title win under the fireworks and glittering lights and quoted “Congratulations to India to Winning the Asia cup. Well deserved.”

Windies await the Asian champions
After the incredible triumph in the UAE, the leadership responsibilities now will fall back with Virat Kohli as his side will take on the Windies. This might not be as stern a test when compared to the mental struggle they had to go through in England or in UAE, but to write off the Windies will mean no good for Team India.
This will be the first outing in national colours for the Indian skipper after receiving the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award and all eyes will be on him. Not a lot is expected from the Caribbean contingent and to even pull off a win in any of the two Tests would be very difficult for them.
Young sensation Prithvi Shaw might make his international debut in the first Test and it’ll be interesting to see if Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma will make it to the playing XI after all the speculations pertaining to their fitness.
