Gunfire shots during marriage procession invites controversy for Ravindra Jadeja
Controversy has surrounded Ravindra Jadeja’s marriage after gunshots were fired just a few feet away from the bridegroom during the marriage procession on Sunday. Local police immediately arrived at the incident site to launch an inquiry.
“We got the message from our control room. We are checking the footage. Even if shots are fired from a licensed weapon, it can be done only in self-defence. The offence, if proved, can lead to a jail sentence of 3 years,” Mahendra Singh Rana, PSI of the Lodhika Police Station, told IBN 7.
A footage showing Ravindra Jadeja brandishing a sword and showcasing his ‘Talwarbazi skills’ during the sangeet ceremony also went viral in the internet. The video shows Jadeja putting on a smooth show with the sword as other guests watch from the sidelines. It was quite evident that Jaddu surely knows a thing or two about celebrating such a special occasion in a grand way.
Jadeja and soon-to be-wife Riva Solanki got engaged in the first week of February earlier this year. After his engagement, Jadeja said that they arrival of Riva, who is a mechanical engineer, will help him bring him luck on the cricket field.
The date of the sangeet clashed with his IPL team Gujarat Lions’ fixture with Mumbai Indians last night. Therefore, the Gujarat Lions all-rounder missed Saturday’s match. However, the reception is set to be graced by the presence of his team mates. According to reports, all-rounder’s close friends MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Dwayne Bravo and many other Indian players will arrive in Rajkot on Sunday to attend the reception.
