Hackers attack MPCA website ahead of India v Australia Indore clash

The Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) has been hit hard ahead of the third ODI between India and Australia. The state association was gearing up for the mega clash scheduled to be played at Indore. The venue of Indore had recently hosted it’s first ever Test match last year when New Zealand had toured India. The venue has been widely appreciated by the cricket pundits.

At a time when the MPCA should have ideally been gearing up for the last minute finishes of the clash, they are instead left with a problem on a different field altogether. The official website of the state association was reportedly hacked by a hacker. The website, identified as www.mpcaonline.com, faced crashing issues two days ahead of the match.

It was expected to cater to the needs of all the details of the upcoming international fixture. Intentions of the hackers behind the website attack remains largely unknown. Also, no losses have been reported up until now. The hacker described himself/herself as ‘Rizi Haxor’. With the kind of messages that the hacker displayed on the website, it seems that this could be a precursor to a bigger threat for the other cricket association websites that also serve the ticketing services for the big matches.

In case some of the databases get tampered, the entire arrangement of the game could be in severe doldrums. The website was not accessible throughout the day and read a message, “Nobody can give you freedom, nobody can you equality or justice, if you are a man, you take it!”. Well, the message indeed sounds very cryptic.

The hacker warned the officials in another message wherein the message read, “Hello Admin, your website is zero per cent secure. Patch it or I will be back there. Don’t hate me, hate your security.” Meanwhile, the MPCA CEO Rohit Pandit exclaimed that there was no such report of hacking. Also, he mentioned that the site was under maintenance.
