The nation is currently having its eyes set on the Olympic Games in progress in Tokyo. The Indian athletes and the players from team events are fighting hard to win the medal for the country. Mirabai Chanu opened the account for India too on Saturday winning the Silver medal in the 49 kg category in Weightlifting. The whole country showered praises on her and congratulated her for the same as well.
Sunday also started on a good note for India as wrestler Priya Malik won the Gold Medal for India in the World Wrestling Championship in Hungary. But not many were of aware of it and a lot of people thought she won the medal for India at the Tokyo Olympics.
Indian cricketers Ishant Sharma and Hanuma Vihari also got caught in a hilarious confusion as they congratulated her for winning a medal at the Olympics. The latter was delighted that India won the first Gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics but he soon realised that it was a mistake and deleted the tweet. Even Ishant Sharma did the same mistake and like his teammate, soon deleted the tweet.
Here are the tweets:
Ishant and Vihari gearing up for Test series against England
Meanwhile, both Ishant Sharma and Hanuma Vihari are currently in England gearing up for the upcoming five-match Test series against the home team. Ishant is a part of the much-famed seam attack comprising Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami along with him and is expected to play in the first Test starting on August 4.
Vihari making it to the playing XI will depend mostly on the combination India would go with. Even if the visitors decide to play an extra batsman at six, there could be a toss up between him and KL Rahul who scored a brilliant ton in the three-day warm-up game against County Select XI. Vihari last played for India in Tests in the Sydney against Australia when he and Ravi Ashwin batted bravely on the final day to eke out a thrilling draw.
