Happy Birthday Virat Kohli: Wishes pour in for the Indian skipper on his 29th birthday
Kohli's friends, colleagues and fans also took to Twitter to wish Virat Kohli on the occasion.
Virat Kohli can arguably be counted among the most dynamic batsmen to have played the game. Apart from his ability to smash records at will, the current Indian skipper also displays a sense of responsibility, every time he takes the field. During India’s erstwhile contest against New Zealand, the swashbuckling batsman emerged as the first Indian to score 7000 T20 runs. He also surpassed Tillakaratne Dilshan to become the second highest run-getter in T20s Internationals.
He couldn’t take India over the finishing line but played another wonderful hand of 65 runs off 42 balls. However, his captaincy skills have earned appreciations for experts and pundits from across the globe. The cricketer is celebrating his 29th birthday and quite expectantly, wishes poured in from all quarters.
The Indian team celebrated his birthday at the time hotel and smeared cake all over his face. Nevertheless, his friends, colleagues and fans also took to Twitter to wish Virat on the occasion.
Here are the tweets:
A series win will be the icing on the cake
India after a thumping win in New Delhi, slumped to a hefty defeat at Rajkot by 40 runs. Colin Munro and Trent Boult ripped apart the Indian team with a century and a 4-wicket haul respectively. Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled beautifully, but the other Indian bowlers were expensive. Consequently, New Zealand racked up 196 runs.
The target eventually turned out to be a far cry for the Indians as their batsmen, apart from Virat Kohli, didn’t get going. The series now moves to Thiruvananthapuram for the 3rd and final match of the series. After the defeat, India will look to make amends in the decider. If they manage to win the series, then it will be an appropriate gift for Virat Kohli on his birthday from Team India.
