'Happy for Chandu Bhai' - Wasim Jaffer congratulates Chandrakant Pandit on his appointment as KKR's head coach
Kolkata Knight Riders announced the appointment of Chandrakant Pandit as their head coach on August 17.
The two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have signed former Indian cricketer Chandrakant Pandit as their head coach. Meanwhile, another former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer congratulated Pandit on his appointment and also shared a message on his coaching style in the same tweet.
To note, Pandit had a successful run as the head coach of Madhya Pradesh during the 2021-22 Ranji Trophy season. Under the able management of Pandit, MP went on to win the Ranji Trophy last season after defeating the domestic heavyweights Mumbai in the final match.

“Happy for Chandu Bhai! To the KKR players unfamiliar with his coaching style, I’d suggest watching @iamsrk in Chak de India will help,” Jaffer wrote on Twitter as a caption.
It must be noted that former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum had to leave his post as the head coach of KKR after he was appointed as England’s Test team head coach. The Men in Purple also had an average run during IPL 2022. Meanwhile, KKR CEO Venky Mysore expressed his happiness over Pandit joining the KKR camp.
“We are very excited that Chandu is joining the Knight Riders family to lead us through the next phase of our journey. His deep commitment to what he does and his track record of success in domestic cricket are there for everyone to see. We are looking forward to his partnership with our skipper Shreyas Iyer, which promises to be an exciting one,” Venky Mysore said in an official statement.
“It’s a great honor and privilege to be given this responsibility. I have heard from players and others who have been associated with the Knight Riders, about the family culture, as well as the tradition of success that has been created. I am excited about the quality of the support staff and the players who are part of the setup and I am looking forward to this opportunity with all humility and positive expectations,” Chandrakant Pandit said.
