Harbhajan compares Brendon McCullum to a Hindi film character, Rashid Khan can't stop laughing at it
We've seen numerous instances of cricketers pulling pranks on their contemporaries on social media in the past.
The fierce competition that exists between the cricketers is something that’s restricted to within the field while off the field, most of the players share an endearing camaraderie. We’ve seen numerous instances of cricketers pulling pranks on their contemporaries on social media. This time around, it was Brendon McCullum who was trolled by Harbhajan Singh and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan found himself laughing along with the Twitterati at the goofy post.
McCullum, who warmed the bench for a few matches has been drafted into the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) side in the past couple of matches and he’s not disappointed. His consecutive quickfire knocks of 30 odd runs up the order have provided RCB with the much-needed stability in the top order and the opener’s knock worth 37 runs against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday was instrumental in his side’s victory. However, Bhajji took to Twitter to post something else he’s noticed during McCullum’s innings other than his blistering shots.
Bhajji compares Brendon McCullum with Hindi film character
Posting a side-by-side collage of McCullum and veteran Hindi film actor, Late Rajesh Vivek in a tweet, Harbhajan left the Twitterati in splits. Pointing out the funny batting stance that McCullum had taken in a particular shot against Mumbai, Singh compared it with that of the character Guran in the popular Hindi movie about a cricket match between the British and the Indian farmers in a pre-independence backdrop, ‘Lagaan’. Both the pictures bore a similar unconventional stance with the batsmen standing almost straight with their back to the stumps and their bat held out in front while hitting a shot.
Bhajji hilariously captioned his tweet as “Who did better ?? Lagaan is back now in colourful kit …it’s on TV everyday 8 to 11.30 on @StarSportsIndia.” Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)‘s star bowler, Rashid Khan was evidently amused and joined in on the fun as he replied to the spinner’s tweet with laughing emoticons. His reaction was well justified considering the wit and humour Bhajji has displayed in his tweet, has left the social media rolling on the floor laughing.
Here’s Rashid Khan’s reaction to Harbhajan Singh’s tweet:
Both Harbhajan and Rashid can afford to be in a cheerful mood, considering their teams are at the top two positions of the points table of IPL 2018. Khan, in particular, has been exemplary with the ball, with 10 wickets in 8 matches already. McCullum, on the other hand, recently expressed disappointment with his side’s poor fielding efforts against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) but assured that the team still has the ability to make it to the playoffs.
