Historically, there have been very few bowlers, who have been successful in stopping the wrath from the willow of AB de Villiers and Kieron Pollard in the T20 format. The two dashers have been undoubtedly two of the greatest finishers in the history of the game. One of the biggest reasons, for the teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) having huge fan-following is due to the match-winning performances of both these players.
AB hanged up his boots on his IPL career last year, while Pollard was out of touch in the 2022 edition. Meanwhile, former Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has chosen two bowlers who he thinks have the ability to put a control on the flow of runs against the two power hitters.
Harbhajan goes with Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga
In the latest interaction, Harbhajan has chosen Jasprit Bumrah and Lasith Malinga as the death bowlers for winning the games in crunch moments. It is evident that both the bowlers had played key roles in multiple title victories for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Harbhajan, who was associated with MI for a decade, has also played a lot pf cricket for the duo.
On Twitter, CricTracker asked cricket fans about their choice of bowlers to defend 10 runs in the final over, with AB de Villiers and Kieron Pollard at the crease. The Turbanator quoted the tweet, and replied, “Bhumrah [Bumrah], Malinga”.

In 13 T20 innings against Bumrah, De Villiers has been dismissed on three occasions, and has a strike rate of 147.05. The former Proteas captain has dominated Malinga in the shortest format with a strike rate of 194.73, and giving his wicket away only a single time. Such has been the dominance of AB against the world-class bowlers.
On the other hand, Pollard has faced Bumrah in only four T20 innings, but has been dismissed on two occasions, and has a strike rate of 118.18. In six innings against Malinga, the former Caribbean all-rounder has played with a strike rate of 136.66, and found a way to be dismissed on just one instance.
