Harbhajan Singh, Ishant Sharma exchange hilarious tweets on latter’s birthday
His former India teammate Harbhajan Singh took to Twitter to wish him.
India star Ishant Sharma turned 31 on Monday (September 2) and wishes poured in from all corners. Ishant was in Jamaica for the just-concluded Test series against West Indies as he turned a year older. The senior pacer continued his fine show with the ball and also went on to make an impact with the bat. Ishant, whose form with the ball has been really good in the last couple of years or so, scored his maiden Test fifty in the Jamaica Test.
He hit 57 from 80 balls to help India take command of the game. The tail-ender stitched a 112-run stand with centurion Hanuma Vihari as the duo propelled India to 416. He had shown some fight with the bat in the first Test too, playing out 62 balls for his 19 runs to frustrate the West Indies.
And as Ishant was busy impressing in the Caribbeans, his fans and others took to social media to wish him on his special day. His former India teammate Harbhajan Singh also took to Twitter to wish him. Harbhajan, who is known for his humourous nature, used the opportunity to pull Ishant’s legs. The legendary spinner posted a photo of Ishant’s famous facial expression while writing, “Happy birthday lambu @ImIshant have a great day and year ahead.. bless you.. love this pic of yours”
Ishant had famously made hilarious faces at Australia batsman Steve Smith during the Bengaluru Test in 2017. The fast-bowler, nonetheless, was quick to reply to Harbhajan’s message as he thanked him for the message and funnily stated that he would continue giving such kind of photos.
“Bhajji pa thank you so much or bhi acchi picture deta rahunga har birthday ke liye @harbhajan_singh,” wrote Ishant Sharma.
Ishant Sharma creates history
During the third day of the Jamaica Test, Ishant Sharma became the most successful Indian pacer outside of Asia. Ishant achieved the feat when he dismissed Jahmar Hamilton for 5 as West Indies were bowled out for 117 in the first innings. The dismissal helped Ishant surpass the legendary Kapil Dev ‘s tally of 155 wickets outside Asia. When it comes to most wickets by an Indian bowler outside Asia, Anil Kumble tops the list with 200 wickets from 50 matches.
