The world is going through a tough phase at this moment as countries are shutting down borders and stringent travel restrictions are coming into effect due to the spread of pandemic declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) due to novel Coronavirus.

Furthermore, due to the prevalent conditions sports bodies across the world have either cancelled or postponed tournaments as the gathering of congregation is dangerous in these times. India is gradually strengthening its measures to tackle the spread of the novel virus and as such cricketers are sharing useful information on their social media accounts to disseminate awareness.

Now, Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh put out a story on his Instagram account where true to his jovial personality, he has taken a tongue-in-cheek way to spread the message of avoiding shaking hands and instead do a ‘namaste’ (greeting people by folding your hands).

Harbhajan Singh is set to don the CSK jersey in IPL 2020

The story has MS Dhoni in one frame with Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta as the two are shaking hands and the other frame has Harbhajan folding his hands to Preity from one of the previous season’s games of the Indian Premier League. The off-spinner from Jalandhar wrote along with the picture: “One simple step to tackle #coronavirus”.

Harbhajan has been a vital member of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) franchise as the squad has a wealth of experienced players in its ranks. The 39-year-old spinner was last seen playing for the national side in 2016 and has 103 Test matches with 417 wickets to his credit.

Recently, the social media was abuzz with the memories of the spinner taking the hat-trick in that memorable 2001 test match against Australia at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

As players and fans wait for the green signal from the BCCI, which has postponed IPL 2020 by a fortnight – from March 29 to April 15 – Harbhajan would be hoping to get back in the yellow jersey of CSK and make yet another crucial impact for the team as it vies for the top honours.
