Ace all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been out of action for over three months now because of a lower back injury that has been troubling him for some time. The 26-year-old underwent surgery in London successfully and he was seen sporting an exotic watch while posing on the hospital bed, leaving the fans amazed. Recently, Hardik revealed his plan to make a comeback in the middle of the series against New Zealand, play the Indian Premier League and also the T20 World Cup next year.
India will be traveling to New Zealand for a full-fledged tour starting late January and it will feature five T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests. It may be mentioned here that Hardik made a comeback to international cricket last year following a months-long injury and a ban during a limited-over series in New Zealand.
Hardik was, however, seen partying with former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who hasn’t played for India after the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand. A picture with the ace wicketkeeper and three other friends accompanying the duo is going viral. Dhoni was also seen celebrating Christmas with Rishabh Pant, often dubbed as his natural successor despite the recent failures.
Hardik Pandya sweats it out in the nets
Hardik, who last played for India against South Africa at home in September, was also seen sweating it out in the nets to prepare himself for a comeback to the national team at the earliest. He was seen playing a wide range of shots and timing the ball with power. He took to social media to write that the nets were the best place to celebrate the festive season along with posting video of the practice session.
While speaking to a news agency, Hardik also conceded that it is not easy to make a comeback as one needs the motivation to make it happen successfully. He said he can always make a comeback physically but it is important to stay healthy mentally.
Hardik made his India debut in Australia in 2016 and has gone on to play 11 Tests, 54 ODIs and 40 T20Is so far to score over 1,700 runs and take 109 wickets.
