A whole host of cricket stars are celebrating their respective birthdays on December 6. The list includes former Indian bowler- one the architects of India’s 2007 series win in England and the subsequent T20 World Cup heist that followed in South Africa- Rudra Pratap Singh, the real 3-D cricketer Ravindra Jadeja (who turned 31 today),  and India’s one of the two triple-centurions Karun Nair (28),

The list further includes the current incumbent at the No.4 slot in white-ball cricket Shreyas Iyer and possibly one of the biggest superstars in Indian cricket at the moment Jasprit Bumrah, both of whom are celebrating their 25th and 26th birthday respectively. Naturally, with such a star-studded list of birthdays, fans, pundits, ex-cricketers, compatriots, opponents, news agencies, BCCI, everyone is taking to social media to post congratulatory wishes, stats, achievements for the birthday boys.

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya too took to Twitter to wish Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer in his imitable way. Pandya wrote, One knocks the stumps over, the other knocks the ball out of the park. Happy birthday to these two superstars @Jaspritbumrah93 @ShreyasIyer15,”

Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah on a comeback trail

Pandya is currently on a comeback trail after having successfully undergone surgery courtesy the lower-back issues that have plagued the all-rounder since the 2018 Asia Cup. In his absence, Shivam Dube has an opportunity to stake his claim as the formers back-up for next years’ ICC T20 World Cup in Australia.

Speaking about Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian speedster has been out of action since the West Indies Test series due to injury. Bumrah is expected to make a comeback to international cricket when India travels New Zealand for a full tour comprising of five T20Is, three ODIs, and two Tests. And, India will hope that the fast bowling spearhead can do what he has thus far in his 12-match Test career- bamboozle batsman with pace, accuracy and swing and seam.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer continues to take gigantic steps towards making himself a regular in white-ball cricket courtsey his imperious run-of-form in whatever opportunities he has got thus far. And, the upcoming series against the West Indies could well turn out to be another step towards achieving that.
