India Women’s team cricketer Harmanpreet Kaur has been in high spirits on this trip to England. She was a part of the Lancashire Thunder in the Kia Super League. After the Thunder’s 10th match Harmanpreet who is India’s T20I skipper had to return back home for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. But just before that she spent some time teaching team-mate Alex Hartley some bhangra.

A Punjabi the Indian loves her music and dance. Bhangra is a traditional, sort of folk dance form that originates in Punjab. Most Indian players admitted in interviews that they play Punjabi music in the dressing room and it at most times Kaur who acts as the DJ. She carried on her habit into the Thunder team as well.

She is playing a Punjabi dance number and shaking a leg, Hartley soon joins her and they dance on it for a while. The English cricketer soon caught up on the moves and was pretty much into it. In a video posted on Twitter it mentioned that Kaur ‘moves like a jagger’.

Here is a video of their jig:

The 29-year-old dynamic Indian batter is known for her big hitting abilities and her swagger with the bat. She rose to international fame with her knock of 171* against Australia in the quarter-final of the Women’s World Cup 2017.

Earlier, she had become the second Indian after Smriti Mandhana to be signed up by a Super League team. In the KSL, Harman took a while to get going, after her 34* in the opening game against Surrey Stars she had a string of single-digit scores. In her penultimate match of the season against the Yorkshire Diamonds, she played a tremendous knock worth 74 runs. It was one of those games where no one else seemed to know what was happening and Lancashire just managed 154 but was still a winning total.

In her last outing, Kaur contributed an unbeaten 44 and once again helped the team get a par score on the board. They are at No.4 on the list and will certainly miss the star player in the bigger matches.
