Harsh Goenka pokes fun at Ravi Shastri's rotund belly

India are currently playing a five-match Test series against England. The first match turned out to be a disappointment for them as they slumped to defeat by 31 runs at Edgbaston in Birmingham. India have had some memorable moments at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the venue for the second Test, and they would be eager to give the Brits a run for their money and make a comeback.

In the opening encounter, Virat Kohli played a couple of superlative knocks of 149 and 51 respectively. However, the remaining batters capitulated one after the other. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma bowled brilliantly, but couldn’t save India from tasting defeat. Previously, Ravi Shastri also iterated that the team won’t resort to excuses and they believe in winning matches.

Prior the Lord’s Test, Shastri inspected the pitch, which seemed to be a green top. However, during the inspection, he was caught, standing in a rather awkward position where his stomach was seen bulging out. The social media noticed the same and they made some hilarious comments. Some fans also called for the yo-yo test to be conducted on the support staff as well.

Harsh Goenka targets Shastri

Meanwhile, Harsh Goenka, the chairman of RPG Enterprises, also took a dig at Shastri’s round stomach. He is the brother of Sanjeev Goenka, the owner of the Rising Pune Supergiant, the scrapped Indian Premier League (IPL) team. The 60-year-old also ridiculed MS Dhoni after the final of IPL 2017 after which he was greeted by backlashes from the supporters.

Thereafter, he dropped similar tweets for Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, and Rohit Sharma as well. After Dhoni, Kohli and Rohit, he has laid on to the Indian head coach and compared his belly to that of a pregnant woman. He took to Twitter and wrote, “For the second test match #ENGvIND, one cricket player who looks ready to DELIVER is Ravi Shastri.”
