In recent times, Harsha Bhogle has been one of the few commentary men who has faded away into oblivion. While his knowledge in cricket does indeed remain paramount, it is quite clear that there is a sinister reason for him not to grace many in the commentary box. While he remains active on Twitter, Bhogle has come out and stated that he is indeed one of the active lot in the Indian cricket context at the very least.
Recently, a blown away Bhogle took to Twitter to appreciate what he had described as an ‘impressive’ Rashid Khan. The latter, not used to speaking with journalists and broadcasters of such high regard went ahead and thanked Bhogle calling him ‘Bro’. This was certainly not something that went down all that well with the Indian fans, many of whom are eagerly awaiting the upcoming India vs Afghanistan Test match.
Harsha, a diplomat in his own right went ahead and said that it was all right, understanding that the youngster was still in his teens and having the responsibility of being one of the best bowlers around.
Rashid will certainly have a massive role to play when India takes on Afghanistan in the one-off Test. While this will certainly be marking a clear historical significance in the cricketing world, it will also be a watershed moment for all those who have worked the hardest to make this happen.
The Bhogle-Rashid banter
“Meanwhile @rashidkhan_19 has defended 9 off the last over to give Afghanistan a clean sweep over Bangladesh. Amazing result for Afghanistan and further proof of Rashid’s phenomenal development,” Bhogle tweeted.
“Hey @rashidkhan_19, no problem with the “bro” bit. Go for it! Looking forward to catching up in Bengaluru!” the tweet read.
Thank you bro
