Harsha Bhogle’s IPL team of the decade revealed; MS Dhoni named captain

The tenth season of the Indian Premier League saw an unprecedented ending. Mumbai Indians pulled off a victory from the jaws of defeat in a nail-biting encounter against the Rising Pune Supergiants on Sunday night. With the victory, Mumbai became the most successful team in the IPL, with three titles. Chennai Super Kings and the Kolkata Knight Riders succeed MI with two titles each.
Completing ten successful edition of the IPL, cricket pundit Harsha Bhogle revealed his all-time IPL XI from the last decade. The top order of Bhogle’s XI includes the deadly and the swashbuckling batsman from the Caribbean, Chris Gayle partnered with the current vice-captain of India Rohit Sharma. The duo can provide the team aggression and the platform.
One of the finest batsmen in India cricket, Virat Kohli starts the middle order followed by Suresh Raina, and former Indian captain MS Dhoni. All-rounders like Shane Watson and Dwayne Bravo have let the statistics speak for themselves. The duo has proved themselves over the past seasons and their selection in the list can totally be justified.
The bowling department has the perfect blend too on one side it looks lethal with the presence of the Lasith Malinga and Bhuvaneshwar. While, on the other, it is beautifully balanced by the technique of Amit Mishra and the wit of R Ashwin.
“Now depending on which way you look at it, picking an IPL (Indian Premier League) team of the past 10 years can either be great fun or it can be enormously difficult…can be gut-wrenching and you are sitting there almost as if you think ‘wow I own these careers’, at which point I decided it’s just a fun exercise. So I’ve treated it as a fun exercise,” he said in a video for Cricbuzz.
