Hasan Ali goes past Virat Kohli's yo-yo test score comfortably
PCB has organised a camp in Lahore ahead of the Asia Cup.
The fitness of the cricketers has become immensely important these days and most of the cricket bodies have made it mandatory to clear the yo-yo test. Even Team India has adopted this process and no player can come into the team without clearing the fitness test, the rule which has created controversy in the Indian cricket. Even the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has employed the same strategy. However, Hasan Ali has emerged as the fittest cricketer in the team and he has also trumped Virat Kohli in this aspect.
Virat Kohli is one of the fittest cricketers in the team currently and his score of 19 is only bettered by Manish Pandey with a score of 19.2. However, the benchmark set to clear the test is 16 which is quite low as compared to the other teams. But very few players managed to go past Kohli and Hasan Ali’s this effort should give him confidence ahead of the Asia Cup.
What is his score?
According to the reports in arysports.tv, Hasan Ali came out with flying colours in the fitness test conducted by the PCB and his score of 20 is the best in the 18-man squad. The board has organised a camp in Lahore for the team before the much-awaited Asia Cup and on the first day, the players underwent the fitness test. Interestingly, Imad Wasim, who was returning to the team for the first time since he injured during the Pakistan Super League (PSL), flunked the test and is likely to be left out now.
The Men in Green will be led by Sarfraz Ahmed in the tournament and are coming off a 5-0 victory over Zimbabwe which means the confidence will be high. Hasan Ali’s amazing fitness means he will be itching to hit the straps after getting injured during one of the games in Zimbabwe.
They will begin their campaign on September 16 against the winner of the ongoing Asia Cup qualifiers after which the arch-rivals India will challenge them on September 19.
