The cricketing world currently has a number of batsmen who have wielded their magic on the cricket field in all three formats of the sport. The likes of Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, has been phenomenal in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. Kohli is currently in England where he is playing the third of the five-match Test series against the Brits at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
Albeit his team hasn’t been able to get the better of the Three Lions, Kohli is topping the charts as far as the leading run scorers of the series is concerned. Joe Root, the English Test skipper, also had a decent outing thus far. He floundered in the T20 series after which he scored two back-to-back centuries in the ODI series against the Men in Blue to help his team win the series 2-1.
Hasan finds it difficult to name one
He played a gutsy knock of 80 in the opening Test against India at Edgbaston in Birmingham, but couldn’t quite replicate his form in the next two innings. Babar Azam is another of those cricketers who have tasted success in recent times, especially in ODI and T20 cricket. In 46 ODIs, the 23-year-old has scored 1973 runs along with eight centuries and seven half-centuries.
Even in T20Is, he has an average of over 50 in 20 encounters with five fifties to his name. His latest ton came in an ODI against Zimbabwe at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Recently, a fan asked Pakistani fast bowler Hasan Ali to name the best batsmen of the generation in a Question and Answer session on Twitter. The user took to the social media platform and wrote, “best batsman of this generation?”

Quite expectantly, the Mandi Bahauddin-born speedster found himself in a fix while zeroing on in a single batsman. Eventually, he named all three of Kohli, Root, and Azam as the best. He replied and wrote, “Virat kohli babar azam and root as well.”
Here is Hasan’s reply
Virat kohli babar azam and root as well
