Haseeb Hameed and Ben Duckett called-up to MCC side against Middlesex
England youngsters Ben Duckett and Haseeb Hameed have been added the squad of the Marylebourne Cricket Club for the upcoming England County Championship match against Middlesex. While this would certainly be an honor for both these batsmen, it would be clear that their performances have been quite impressive in recent times, thereby deserving their place in the side, to say the least.
While Duckett has had a massive problem with cementing his place in the side, Hameed has shown grit and character whilst making the opening slot well and truly his. It was rather unfortunate, the manner in which he was forced to take the early flight back home following a nasty injury to his hand. He was replaced by Keaton Jennings for the remainder of the Test series.
However, while Jennings roared on debut, it was the close of the series that he was beginning to start facing issues with the bat. MCC’s head of cricket John Stephenson went on to add that he was indeed pleased with having talents such as theirs at his disposal. Joe Clarke is also a part of the side that has been named by the MCC so far.
“Having worked closely with the England selectors to assemble this group, I am very pleased with the fantastic talent we have at our disposal,” said MCC head of cricket John Stephenson in a club statement.
“Haseeb Hameed, Joe Clarke, and Ben Duckett are three of the most exciting young batsmen in the country at the moment, and I’m looking forward to seeing them,” the former England international added.

“We’ve also selected a youthful and varied bowling attack which I’m sure will pose problems for the Middlesex batsmen.
