Hasin Jahan attacks reporters who were trying to get her reaction

Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan has occupied more news space in the last couple of weeks more than either of them collectively did in the last five years. She gave her initial statement and has been interacting with the media almost on a daily basis updating them about the developments. But today she lost her cool and attacked the Network18 crew in Kolkata.

The journalists were trying to get her reaction on the ongoing controversy but something triggered her and Jahan was furious. A video footage of the incident also emerged on social media. Though it is not very clear what she was asked and what exactly she did. Ever since she emerged out with the allegations against Shami, the media has been constantly following her.

It could be the lack of personal space and round the clock attention overdose that frustrated her to the extent that she physically attacked the journos.

History of the case:

In the last few weeks, she first put out Shami’s chat conversations on Facebook, then gave a statement in the media that the cricketer has had several extra-marital affairs that have spoiled their relationship. Jahan didn’t stop there and also accused him of fixing matches, in the days to follow she released call recordings where she’s asking the other person about money he received from Mohammad Bhai of the UK.

Shami has all this while maintained that the allegations are baseless and he has never been involved in any such acts. The 28-year-old also said that he’d rather prefer to end his life than fix matches and bring shame to the country.

He’s also attempted to patch things up with Jahan as in his view the only way they can live in peace and ensure the best future for their daughter is by solving the matter with talks.

Amidst all that the Kolkata Police have registered a case under various bailable and non-bailable charges against Shami and will record Hasin Jahan’s statement on March 19 before initiating further investigation in the case.
