Hasin Jahan feels justified after police files charge sheet against Mohammed Shami
"The charge sheet should have been stronger,"- Jahan.
Just when Indian pace bowler Mohammed Shami might have thought that things have gotten better for him on every front of life, the Kolkata Police have filed a charge sheet against him under Section 498A (dowry harassment) and 354A (sexual harassment) on Thursday, which was presented before the Alipore court in Kolkata.
This comes after several tussles between Shami and his estranged former wife Hasin Jahan. Jahan had accused Shami of domestic abuse and having extramarital affairs last year. His involvement in IPL 2018 was also delayed due to these developments and when he did play, the performance was just wasn’t there.
Hasin Jahan comments after Shami is charged by Kolkata Police
The Kolkata Police charged Shami as Hasin Jahan had filed a complaint about domestic abuse and torture by not just Shami, but also by his family members. Jahan also accused BCCI of not taking any action against Shami.
She was quoted by India Today as saying, “I have had to complete a long journey for this because the torture, the injustice that happened with me and my daughter was immense. So many people supported him in his wrong deeds, BCCI should have taken an action but they didn’t.”
“I had thought that I am a Bengali and I will definitely get justice and today that day has come. My faith has been fulfilled today even though there are only two sections levied against him in the charge sheet, there had to be more on the basis of the evidence that I had submitted. On the basis of that, the charge sheet should have been stronger,” Hasin Jahan further commented.
Hasin alleges that Shami has stopped paying for maintenance of his daughter
Mohammad Shami and Hasin Jahan have a daughter together and Jahan has said that Shami has stopped paying maintenance money for their daughter as well from past few months. She said that she doesn’t care about the power, the money and the sources used by Shami and his family and will fight till the end.
Jahan further accused the BCCI of not taking any action against Shami and of not supporting her. She was quoted saying, “BCCI never supported me even when I had proven that Shami did wrong with me. Now that the charge sheet has been filed, at least now they should take some action against him. He is performing well for the country which is good but at the end of the day, he is a criminal and he spoilt my life and the life of my daughter.”
Mohammad Shami has fought his way into the Indian limited overs team and is likely to be picked for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019 in England and Wales.
