'He does not listen to me' - Gautam Gambhir trolls VVS Laxman while describing his routine during lockdown

Due to the coronavirus debacle, the sporting scenario across the globe has come to a standstill. All tournaments have either been called off or postponed to battle the spread of the virus. Amid the quarantine period, several cricketers are spending their idle time amid the lockdown by being active on social media or by helping their families in doing household chores.

Former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir also revealed about the work which he has been assigned to do during the lockdown. The Delhi cricketer explained that he has been asked to take care of the plants in his house. However, Gambhir complained that the grass is not growing even after watering the lawn.

The left-hander went on to troll former Indian player VVS Laxman. Gambhir said that the grass isn’t listening to him just like his teammate VVS Laxman does not listen to him.

“I have been given a responsibility during this lockdown to maintain the plants and the lawn in our garden. But the interesting part is that I’ve been watering the lawn for three days, but there’s still no grass growing. Just as Laxman does not listen to me, so also does this grass not listen to me,” Gambhir said on Star Sports’ show Cricket Connected.

Meanwhile, several cricketers including Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Suresh Raina and Gautam Gambhir have come forward to aid in the battle against the pandemic. In such stern condition, cricketers are doing their best to contribute to PM-CARES Relief Fund for helping the needy and the poor.

Gambhir also stated that no amount is big or small when it is being donated with the right intent. The left-handed batsman also said that everyone has to stand together in such a situation for winning the war against the coronavirus outbreak. After the lockdown in India was extended to May 3 due to spread of COVID-19, BCCI postponed the much-awaited IPL 2020 for an indefinite period.

“Since we were talking about donations, according to me there’s no limit if a person gives one rupee with the right emotion, it’s a very big contribution. We can only win this war if we stand together and the most important thing is to follow the guidelines. If we have been asked to stay at home and not leave our house at any circumstance then it’s really important for us to follow this, as it is for the betterment of our nation,” he added.
