Former Team India trainer Ramji Srinivasan has lauded former Indian and current Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper MS Dhoni and compared him with the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar, calling him a one in a billion product. The Men in Blue tasted a lot of success under the leadership of MS Dhoni.

To note, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, along with the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. Despite being 40+, few cricketers in the world might match Dhoni’s fitness. The wicketkeeper-batter is still very quick behind the stumps and runs extremely fast between the wickets.

The veteran batter played some excellent knocks during this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL) and had recently announced that he will play for the Yellow Army again next season. Meanwhile, Srinivasan, who has worked with the World Cup-winning skipper, said that his reflexes are like an F1 driver’s.

MS Dhoni has a mind like a 5-star general: Former Indian trainer Srinivasan

“MSD is an enigma and like Sachin Tendulkar, is one in a billion product. He does what suits him, be it strength work, agility, speed, or hybrid work. He has his protocols in place, which suits him. He has amazing reflexes like a Formula One driver and a mind like a 5-star General. Very few can match MSD fitness when they reach that age,” Srinivasan told the New Indian Express.

Srinivasan was also part of the Team India squad during the famous 2011 World Cup campaign and he revealed that the Indian players were prepared for the tournament a year before, both mentally and physically, and wanted to win the tournament at any cost.

“We were the only team where the players never missed a match due to any injuries. The players prepared one year ahead. They were all both mentally and physically prepared. I would say every player took individual responsibility to keep themselves fit and I, as a Strength & Conditioning (S&C) professional, never pushed them beyond their capacity,” he added.
