The Sri Lankan wicket-keeper and batsman Niroshan Dickwella who is amongst the three who were suspended by the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for breaching the bio-bubble on the last England tour is learned to have been consulting a few top psychologists. The SLC’s Ex-co meeting took the decision on July 30 to instruct the Mandatory Counselling to the suspended trio.
One of the sources close to Dickwella confirmed that the Sri Lanka cricketer has been taking advice from some consultants. He also put an end to all the talks swirling in the wind about the three intending to leave the country for the USA and play there. The source further pointed that Dickwella’s aim is to practice and make a comeback to the side. He added that the wicketkeeper-batter has accepted his fault and apologized for the same.
“He (Dickwella) is taking advice from a few top consultants in a personal capacity. He will be a pure and proud Sri Lankan no matter what. These USA reports are just gossip without any credentials. Dikka will use these as a motivational factor. Dikka’s aim is to practice hard and come back to the national team as a mentally and physically strong man and win games for. He gained everything because of Sri Lanka cricket. He will be nothing but 100% committed to Sri Lanka cricket. He made a mistake, he accepted his fault and apologized to SLC verbally and in writing,” the source said as reported by Pakistan Observer.
