'He is pride of CSK' - Twitter lauds Faf du Plessis for fielding with a bleeding knee against KKR

When you say bleeding knee, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans naturally get emotional. The picture of Shane Watson batting while his knee was bleeding in the final of the 2018 IPL season against Mumbai Indians comes in front of the fans. The man had almost won his team the trophy with a splendid knock but fell short marginally in a thrilling game.

The Australian won many accolades from the cricket experts and fans for his dedication towards the franchise then. Another such player who has been a vital cog of CSK for so many years now is Faf du Plessis. He loves coming over for the IPL and play in the yellow jersey for the three-time champion and gives it his everything both with the bat and in the field.

One such incident happened on the field when the fans’ respect towards the former South Africa skipper went a notch higher. Faf du Plessis was seen fielding with a bleeding knee during the first innings against KKR. The blood on his knee was spotted after he took the catch of Eoin Morgan at the boundary showing his acrobatic skills.

The picture soon went viral on social media and the fans lauded him for his dedication towards CSK. It is still unknown how his knee started to bleed. It could be due to his dive earlier in the innings when Venkatesh Iyer top-edged one and Du Plessis couldn’t reach the ball.

Faf du Plessis is a brilliant fielder. But the man plays a crucial role with the bat for CSK and has been doing the top job opening the innings for his team over the years. He is yet to make a significant mark in the second leg of the IPL but it is only a matter of time before he gets going. CSK are close to making it to the playoffs and Du Plessis will be important if they are to go all the way this season.
