'He seems to be relishing his role as a captain' - Harbhajan Singh lauds GT skipper Hardik Pandya after successful start at IPL 2022

Former Indian veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh has lauded Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya for leading the new entrants from the front in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 season. The off-spinner added that the responsibility of leadership will only make Hardik a better cricketer and a person.

To note, the new franchise is the only team to remain unbeaten in the ongoing IPL 2022 so far. The Titans have managed to win all three matches, beating Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Punjab Kings (PBKS). GT will now take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a group stage game at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy Stadium, Mumbai on April 11 (Monday).

“He seems to be relishing his role as a captain and leading the team from the front. He’s performing with the bat for Gujarat Titans and has also started bowling well which are good signs for Team India as well,” Harbhajan said on Cricket Live show on Star Sports, the official broadcaster of IPL 2022.

Harbhajan, while praising Pandya‘s all-round skills also emphasized that he could also make his comeback to the national team comeback if he performs well in the IPL. “Look, he aims to make his India comeback and if he can start giving those five-six overs with the ball then it will be a big positive for the national side because they’ll need a player of his calibre in the T20 World Cup in Australia,” Harbhajan added.

Skipper Hardik Pandya has been quite phenomenal with both bat and ball so far. The right-hander has played some decent knocks in the three matches so far, including two 30+ scores. Taking the new ball, Pandya has been bowling well and has been getting some vital wickets for his side. The skipper will look to continue his good form against the Orange Army.
