MS Dhoni, the former Indian skipper has earned the reputation as one of the coolest players on the field in international cricket. It is a very rare sight to watch him getting angry on the field. Moreover, the fans and cricketing fraternity also admire him a lot for the same. However, there is always a breaking point of a human being and at the end of the day, Dhoni is also like one of us. In a recent show, Irfan Pathan, the former Indian all-rounder revealed an instance when the 38-year-old got angry during a practice session back in 2006.

The veteran cricketer is rated as one of the gems in international cricket. He has achieved a lot more than any skipper in the history of Indian cricket. Under his captaincy, Men in Blue managed to win a couple of World Cups along with a Champions Trophy. It is not just Dhoni‘s captaincy but his lightening quick wicketkeeping, as well as brilliant batting, that has always helped Team India in winning many crucial games across the globe.

There is no doubt that Dhoni went through a lot of ups and downs in his career. But, one thing that remained constant throughout his career is his calm, composed, and cool behavior on the field. In contrary to that, Irfan Pathan, the former pacer recalled an instance when Dhoni lost his cool.

He said that back in 2006-2007, during the warm-up session, the team had a practice match in which all the right-handed batsmen had to bat with the left hand and vice-versa. In that match, Dhoni was given out but he thought it was a wrong decision. After that, he threw his bat and went to the dressing room. As per Irfan, the Indian gloveman is also a human being and he does get angry.

“It was in 2006-07. During the warm-up, we had a game where the right-handed batsman would bat with the left hand and vice-versa. After we finished the warm-up, we used to get into our practice. So, during the warm-ups, there were 2 teams. Once MS Dhoni was given out which he didn’t think he was. He threw his bat and made a dash to the dressing room and came late for the practice. So, he does get angry,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports show Cricket Connected.
