‘He wanted to be like MS Dhoni’ – Ankita Lokhande on Sushant Singh Rajput’s passionate approach in life

It’s been around one and half months since Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide, but the spotlight remains to be on him. Investigations to delve deep into the matter are still going on with the who’s who of the Indian film industry being interrogated. Amidst the chaos over the last few weeks, Ankita Lokhande, Sushant’s ex-girlfriend, was clear cut in saying that the actor wasn’t depressed.

Lokhande, also Sushant’s cos-star in Pavitra Rishta, said that for the actor, passion was a bigger motivation than money. She said how the 34-year-old had to wait three years before his first break in movies. Back in 2013, Sushant made his Bollywood debut in ‘Kai Po Che’ and his last movie ‘Dil Bechara’ was released on online platform Hotstar a few days ago.

“I want to tell you this. Money was a small thing for Sushant passion was bigger. He used to always tell me even if everything is over I will build my empire again, I will work hard once again. He was passionate about work but more passionate about life. He used to do everything with passion,” Ankita told on Republic TV.

Ankita mentioned that Sushant used to take a leaf out of former Indian captain MS Dhoni’s books. She opined that Rajput was a motivated character and believed in bouncing back from critical situations.

“He was first a background dancer with Shiamak. He always used to say, ‘Success aur failure ke beech line hoti hai, Dhoni was like that and I want to be like that.’ He used to say when there was a failure Dhoni is calm and if anything is good he still used to be calm,” she stated.

“He said if there was a failure he will bounce back. He used to find happiness in small things. He used to provide education to kids, stargaze, this was his happiness. But he cannot die for this. He cannot die for this,” she added.

Of late, Rajput’s family lashed out at Rhea Chakraborty for taking Sushant to the doctor before taking permission from his family. Further developments surrounding Sushant’s passing away remain to be seen.
