Shane Watson believes Virat Kohli has achieved a lifetime’s worth of credit and can decide whether to play or not based on his achievements thus far in his career. The former skipper has scored 128 runs in nine outings at an average of 16.00 in IPL 2022.
Kohli’s numbers have dropped significantly while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2022, as he has struggled to add runs to his tally this season. Despite the fact that no approach appears to be working for him, he continues to head out with the bat in hand, confident in his ability to make a miraculous recovery.
Kohli is one of the team’s most experienced players, and he will undoubtedly overcome this challenge in the belief of Shane Watson. “Virat has got close to a lifetime’s worth of credit. He’s just been so good for so long. He will come good, everyone knows he will come good. Whether it is him making a decision to take a little bit of time off, whether he thinks he needs that? He’ll be able to find it very quickly,” he said on The Grade Cricketer.
Virat is so good that he’ll just find his way: Watson
Shane Watson went on to say that Kohli will rediscover his rhythm in no time as he stated that, although being stifled at times, one’s expertise cannot be erased.
“You don’t lose your skill at all. At times, it can be suppressed a little bit. Either the situations or that you’re a little bit tired or whatever can happen in the game of cricket. No one’s ever gone through their career and been able to score runs non-stop for a long period. Virat is so good that he’ll just find his way. He’s got a lot of credit in the bank, he’s got a lot of cash in the bank for being that good for so long,” he added.
