'He would have thought last night, oh no, not these two' - Kevin Pietersen not surprised by David Warner's three-ball duck
Kevin Pietersen reasoned that the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) pace bowling duo of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada know how to bowl to David Warner.
David Warner scored a three-ball duck for the Sunrises Hyderabad (SRH) side in their opening match of IPL Phase 2 against the Delhi Capitals (DC). And, former England batting great Kevin Pietersen is not surprised by Warner’s failure in the 33rd match of the tournament.
Pietersen further reasoned that the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) pace bowling duo of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada know how to bowl to David Warner.
Adding that Rabada has already scalped Warner’s wicket on a few occasions, the 41-year-old Pietersen said that the match against the Delhi side was a tough one for Warner.
“Nortje and Rabada know how to bowl to David Warner. I think Rabada has knocked him over 4-5 times already. So they know and understand how to bowl to Warner. I am not surprised actually. I think this was a real tough game for Warner,” said Pietersen in a chat on Star Sports.
Anrich Nortje knocked over David Warner cheaply: Kevin Pietersen
Kevin Pietersen also opined that David Warner would have thought on the day before the match that he would find it difficult to find a way out against the likes of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada. Pietersen concluded by stating that Nortje was successful in knocking over David Warner in a cheap fashion.
“He would have thought last night ‘Oh no, not Delhi Capitals. Not Rabada and Nortje. Not these two. Give me Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, somebody else and I am actually going to find a way’. These two know how to bowl to him and they knocked him over cheaply,” concluded Pietersen.
In a totally one-sided affair, the Delhi Capitals (DC) side comfortably beat the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) outfit with 8 wickets to spare to move to the top spot in the IPL points table. Anrich Nortje won the Player of the Match award for his devastating 4-over spell, in which he conceded just 12 runs and also picked up 2 wickets to tilt the match in favour of the Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals side.
