In recent developments, India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja’s restaurant ‘Jaddu’s Food Field’ was raided by the health department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation. The inspection team found out that the food provided in the outlet served stale items.
Jadeja’s restaurant at Rajkot was one of the three raided by the Rajkot Municipal Corporation. According to reports, the inedible food was destroyed by the authorities and the outlets were handed a notice of four days to get their act together.
It was also suggested by the report that boiled food was preserved for a long period while pieces of bread were infested with fungus. Also, the items without mention of the expiry date and stale vegetables were destroyed at Jaddu’s Food Field. The maintenance of the restaurant is undertaken by Jadeja’s sister Naina.

“Yes, we had some quantity of boiled and cooked food. Only a few pieces of bread had gone stale. We used to preserve cooked food, but now we will ensure it is destroyed the same night. Also, we did not have a crusher. We could not find it in the market but will make arrangements now. The food colours were meant to be used only for vegetable carvings and not in food,” quoted Ravindra Jadeja’s sister Naina according to Ahmedabad Mirror.
Ravindra Jadeja is not the only cricketer to own his own restaurant, in fact, several stalwarts of the game such as Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Harbhajan Singh and Yuvraj Singh already own their restaurant chains. Even stars such as Shakib al Hasan and Mahela Jayawardena own their chains of restaurants.
The Saurashtra cricketer is currently part of the T20I squad against Australia. The visitors take on India in a 3-match T20I series in at Ranchi, Guwahati and Hyderabad. Aussies lost the ODI series by a margin of 4-1.
