After returning as the leading run-scorer for the Indian team in the 2018 edition of the U19 World Cup, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been a fine performer in the domestic circuit as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ahead of the IPL 2022 auction, Jaiswal was retained by the Rajasthan Royals (RR). In a latest interaction, former Indian cricketers Wasim Jaffer and Deep Dasgupta opined on the form of Jaiswal in IPL 2022.
After an ordinary performance in the first three games, Jaiswal was dropped from the XI, but he has made a strong by scoring 128 runs in three innings at an average of 42.33. Jaffer said that it is heartening to see the youngster playing in an aggressive manner and not being worried about his place.
“After his return, he has not come out and played defensively to score 20-30 runs. Instead, he has played aggressively and that is a good thing to see for a youngster. He is not worried about his place and is backing his shots. In the game against Punjab, he played a match-winning knock [68 off 41] and attacked the bowlers in a fine fashion. It was heartening to see him not worried about his place,” said Jaffer on Sky247.net presents ‘Not Just Cricket’ Show on CricTracker.
