In the 2nd Test, the batting performance of Men in Green was defined by two players, Mohammad Rizwan and Abid Ali, and their half-centuries helped the team to breach the 200-run mark on board. Umpires signaled to stop the action on 2nd day owing to overcast conditions, and to everybody’s disappointment, 3rd day got entirely washed off due to heavy downpour.

The game remained dull and weak on the 4th day as well

The 4th day saw wicketkeeper-batsman Rizwan jumping to 72 as visitors lost their tenth and last wicket. England could show up with the bat only for five overs that saw Rory Burns depart for a duck. Hosts were at 7 runs with the loss of one wicket as showers returned to stop hardly. The game couldn’t go on ahead as it remained at a halt for more than 4 hours on 4th day. In 43.1 overs, England’s number 3, Zak Crawley scored a fifty but fell in hands of deadly Mohammad Abbas.

Just five overs prior to that, the game was stopped, Yasir Shah scalped Ollie Pop for 9. For the stunning and unexpected knock of 72 runs, Pakistan’s Rizwan earned himself the player of the match award.

With both teams grabbing 20 points each due to a draw, England remained at 3rd position with 279 points in the ICC Test Championship points table. The tourists stand at the 5th point in the table with 153 points under their belt. The 3rd and final Test will see the light of the day from 21st August at Southampton, where the English team will try to seize the series, and tourists will try to turn things in their favor.
