'He's got all the trophies in his bag' - Misbah-ul-Haq heaps praise on MS Dhoni after his retirement
Known for displaying heroics especially under pressure situations, the Ranchi hero really took the Indian cricket game to another benchmark.
Ever since the most successful captain of the Indian side, MS Dhoni has announced his retirement, people can’t stop praising and pouring congratulatory posts on his way. Another one in the series is Pakistan coach Misbah-ul-Haq, who is of the opinion that captain cool had “changed the whole face of Indian cricket” and served the Indian cricket to its very best.
The 39-year-old is known for having lifted all the ICC trophies where he never failed to display his class and fine leadership skills to lead the team on the path of victory. He is fondly remembered for being a stunner in 2011 World Cup finals and how perfectly he pushed the Men in Blue into victory zone in the inaugural T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy.
After Day 3 was washed out in the second Test between England and Pakistan at Southampton, Misbah lauded Dhoni by saying– “He’s a big name in Indian cricket, he’s served Indian cricket very well.”
“One of the greats I think, the way he changed the approach and especially he achieved so much for Indian cricket, winning the World Cup, winning the Champions Trophy, winning the T20 World Cup,” he added, as quoted by The Times of India.
MS Dhoni was a shrewd captain: Misbah-ul-Haq
The Pakistan coach lauded MS for his exceptional demeanour at the crease, says he changed the complete approach of the India side and team had utter confidence, and trust in his actions as skipper. “He’s got all the trophies in his bag”, added former batsman who was a member of Pakistan’s playing side that fell weak in front of the Indian attack at 2007 World T20 final in Johannesburg.
Known for displaying heroics especially under pressure situations, the Ranchi hero really took the Indian cricket game to another benchmark. He carried perfect portions of coolness and aggression to mould game as per his will.
“He was such a ‘shrewd’, you could say, captain — the way he handled the team, the way he just developed the team and changed the team from seniors (senior players), brought up some juniors. He was the one name who really took Indian cricket from wherever Sourav left the team and then from there on he did wonders for Indian cricket, such a wonderful person and a very, very good captain,” concluded Misbah.
