Highest and lowest totals of IPL teams
The upcoming one is going to be the 13th edition of the league, and the IPL has stayed around long enough to generate ample statistics and records for us to devour and digest.
6. Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Highest
The winners of the inaugural edition posted their highest total in a losing cause against the Chennai Super Kings in 2010. CSK had scored 246 for five after some blazing shows by centurion Murli Vijay and Albie Morkel against the struggling bowling attack of the Royals. Coming to chase an unlikely pursuit of 247, Naman Ojha and Shane Watson, through their knocks of 94 from 55 and 60 from 25 respectively, tried the hardest to cross the line, however, the target proved 23 runs too many for them and they lost.
Lowest
RR was pitted against the RCB in Cape Town, in the 2nd match of the second edition of the IPL in 2009. Their bowlers did well to contain the Challengers for 133 at the loss of 8 wickets. Coming to chase an easy target, the Royals looked clueless in front of Anil Kumble, who finished with insane figures of 3.1-1-5-5. Kumble’s 5-wicket haul crumbled Rajasthan and they were dismissed for a paltry sum of 58 in 15.1 overs thereby losing the game by 75 runs.
