8. AB de Villiers – 149 v West Indies:

The fastest century in the history of ODI cricket that came off 31 balls, was scored by AB de Villiers against West Indies at Johannesburg in 2014. He hit 16 sixes in the innings and equaled Rohit Sharma’s world record for most sixes in an innings. He got to his fifty in 16 balls, which is the fastest fifty in the history of the game. He scored at a strike rate of almost 340 and ended his innings with 149 off 44 deliveries. De Villiers had come into bat in the 39th over and still managed to go on a rampage. The modern day master exactly showed why he is regarded the best limited overs batsman of this generation.
