The Australian cricket coach was very successful with the English squad. He played a vital role in managing the English team that won the World Cup.
After England was thrashed out of the 2015 World Cup, Trevor and Captain Morgan started to build a world-dominating squad. With multiple match winners, they were able to hold on to their nerves during the 2019 World Cup Final. Mahela Jayawardene was the most vital member of the Sri Lankan side along with Kumar Sangakkara. In his career, Mahela has played 149 Test matches and 448 ODI games. For a batsman who has played a huge amount of international cricket, assigning him as the head coach is a terrific decision. Well, it looks like the Mumbai Indians have made a great decision. 
Under Mahela, MI has won the IPL titles on numerous occasions. He has been able to build a team composed of the best Indian players and world-class overseas players. Trevor Penney was appointed as the “Lead Assistant Coach” for the Royals as they parted their ways with Andrew McDonald. Although <a href="https://www.crictracker.com/t20/ipl-indian-premier-league/rr-rajasthan-royals/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Rajasthan Royals</a> do not have the position of Head Coach, it is Penney who is the leader of the support staff. Penney is working along with Sairaj Bahatule, the spin bowling coach, and Rob Cassell, the fast bowling coach. Apart from that, he has Dishant Yagnik as his subordinate. But, the absence of major key players has affected their chances this year too. Last year, the Royals finished last.
