4. Ricky Ponting, Delhi Capitals: 3.5 crores
Ricky Ponting will go down as the most influential and successful captain in the history of the game. He was aggressive, vocal, and mentally powerful. Under his leadership, Australia won the 2003 and 2007 World Cup. Well, Australia was the most dominant team during 1999-2009, and the credit for this success goes to Ricky Ponting’s captainship.
In his career, he played 168 Test matches and 375 ODIs. Ricky averaged 51.85 and 42.04 in Tests and ODIs respectively. Although he played only 10 IPL games, he was wise enough to give up the captaincy to Rohit Sharma in 2013. Later on, MI went on to defeat CSK in the final.
Currently, he is the head coach of the Delhi Capitals. And under his leadership, they have been able to revive themselves. This is mainly because of his strictness and masterful tactics. Because of his impressive coaching abilities, Ponting receives a salary of 3.5 crores.
