Highest paid coaches in the IPL
Coaches are offered a handsome amount for giving their services to the franchises.
1. Anil Kumble, Punjab Kings: 4 crores
Given the fact that Anil Kumble was a spinner and he did not turn the ball much, makes him one of the greatest bowlers of all time. Adding on, a wicket tally of 619 in 132 matches makes him one of the greatest ever match winners for India. A member of the ICC Hall of Fame, Kumble is the head coach of the Punjab Kings. Although the franchise has never won an IPL trophy, they have a perfect coaching staff.
Kumble has played 42 IPL games in his career. Even during his days, he used to bowl at an excellent economy rate of 6.58 in IPL. He has the best bowling figure of 5/5 in the tournament. Adding on, he captained RCB into the finals of the 2009 season of IPL.
Kumble has been a decent coach for Punjab. But there were a few eyebrows raised when Gayle was not included in the squad for most of the season last year. Adding on, this year too, Ravi Bishnoi was not given proper chances during the first half of the season. It will be interesting to see how Kumble manages to revive the Punjab Kings during the second half of the tournament. Kumble is the highest-paid coach in the IPL with a huge salary of 4 crores.
