Mitchell Johnson bowled an unplayable spell of pace bowling on a lively Gabba pitch as he took 8 of the 10 wickets and South Africa was decimated at a score of 281. Australia posted 319 in the second innings after Haddin missed his century by 6 runs and others contributed with small scores.
