In one of the biggest dramatic turnarounds and one of the best run chases, India chased down 320 set by Sri Lanka at Hobart in 2012. India needed to chase the target in 40 overs in order to stay alive in the race to finals. The Indian team, kudos to excellent stroke making by Virat Kohli, chased it in 36.4 overs. Coming in to bat at number 4, Kohli hammered the Lankan bowling attack to score 133 of 86 balls with 16 fours and 2 sixes. A phenomenal hitting performance by the young Indian batsman saw Malinga, the most experienced bowler of the side, struggle. He hit Malinga for 24 runs in one over during the innings. He was supported by Gambhir’s 63. Earlier, it was centuries from Dilshan (160) and Sangakkara (105) that saw Sri Lanka post 320/4 in their 50 overs.
